I would say you could buy furniture moving blankets, put it in the car and cover with a good car to be covered.
I think you can wrap your car in the pits. I mean, if outside, cover any way, then you really have no other choice. I would be under a blanket of a kind I'm not sure what your question about internal bits of the game.
How about with a thick blanket?
A blanket works well or flattened large cardboard boxes.
Go to a flea market or a church garage sale and purchase of several large blankets can be a few dollars. Put em in a box or plastic bag (leave your breath), then put in the trunk. Good for emergencies.
